Day-by-Day Itinerary
Fes – Meknes – Volubilis – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt
Pick-up from Fes and drive to the imperial city of Meknes, then visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Continue through Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou to Midelt for dinner and overnight.
Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga – Camel Trek
Drive through the Ziz Valley palm groves to Merzouga. In the late afternoon ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset, enjoy a Berber dinner and music around the fire, and overnight in a desert camp.
Merzouga Desert Day – Dunes, Nomads & Oases
A full day exploring the Erg Chebbi area: sunrise over the dunes, nomad families, Khamlia Gnawa music village and oases. Second night in a desert hotel or camp.
Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Leave the desert and drive to the dramatic Todra Gorge for a walk, then continue to the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight in a kasbah hotel.
Dades – Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou – Marrakech
Drive through the Valley of Roses, visit Ouarzazate and the UNESCO kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, then cross the High Atlas to Marrakech, arriving in the late afternoon.
